Trapped inside the city of Alexandria, you're
going to need to know exactly what you're
up against. Zombies of all kinds seem to have
crept their way into this roleplay from the
Special Infected of the Left 4 Dead series,
the common infected of George A. Romero's
Dawn of the Dead, and they all seem to run
on the chemistry written down by Max Brooks
in the "Zombie Survival Guide". These elements
put together make up the Infected of
Violence in Silence
THE SPECIAL INFECTED
These special infected are ones whom the virus
has taken a dangerous mutation, making its host powerful
and deformed, at the cost of making them susceptible to
death by bodily harm rather than just destroying the brain
like a normal infected.
- The Witch
When survivors get in range of the Witch, she becomes
startled. If survivors are unaware and persist, the
Witch then becomes aggressive and will stand up to chase
the survivor that upset her. With one swipe the Witch will automatically incapacitate a
survivor and begin to violently tear at them with
long claws until she is killed. Sometimes the Witch
can bug out and hit two if someone is close
to her and/or blocking her from the main target. She is
extremely dangerous and should be avoided at almost
all costs.- The Tank
The Tank is a giant beast with an abnormally muscular
upper body who relies on his health and strength to pummel
the Survivors and lob debris. The Tank uses its speed and
large amount of health to close the distance and slam the
Survivors with its massive fists, knocking them back and
doing a lot of damage. If the Survivor is knocked down, the Tank
can bash the Survivor until they are dead. The Tank can smash
cars and other large objects to send them flying towards the Survivors. If there is
nothing around, the Tank will rip a chunk of earth from the ground and toss it.
Tanks are brutal, and your best bet to kill them is continuous
shots to its tiny head area.- The Hunter
The Hunter is a normal looking infected that wears a dark,
hooded sweatshirt and leaps from the shadows upon
unsuspecting Survivors to maul them. The Hunter is able
to pounce great distances to land upon the Survivors and
proceed to shred their flesh from bone. In order to do this
attack, the Hunter must crouch or crawl until the pounce
is charged up. The Survivor is held helpless and the
Hunter cannot end this attack until the Survivor is killed
or the Hunter is knocked off. The Hunter may also use this
leap to barrel into a Survivor and knock them backwards,
possibly off of a ledge- The Smoker
The Smoker is an average sized boss infected covered
in growths and boils and has a fifty foot long tongue as its
primary weapon. He also releases clouds of smoke.
The Smoker's tongue is fired at the head of a Survivor and
wraps around their neck, crushing the soft tissue and bones like toothpicks in a matter of minutes.
Smokers can choke its victim
from above by hanging them from its tongue. A choking Survivor
is unable to move or attack until another Survivor rescues
them. During its tongue attack, the Smoker is helpless,
even if it misses. When at a more horizontal angle from
the victim, the Smoker can use its tongue to pull a Survivor
towards itself, moving the Survivor away from his or
her team. Further, this action poisons the Survivor.
The longer the Smoker pulls the Survivor, the more the
Survivor's health is poisoned. If the Smoker completely
pulls the Survivor to itself, all of the Survivor's health
is poisoned. When the Smoker is shot he releases
an obscuring cloud of smoke, limiting the Survivor's
vision. A smoke cloud is also released around the
Smoker with every tongue attack.- The Boomer
The Boomer is an obese methane-filled monster infected
covered with boils whose main form of attack is projectile
vomit, but also explodes when shot. The Boomer's vomit is
released in one large attack, and in the right circumstances
can hit more than one target. The vomit obscures the vision
of its victims, and also acts as a pheromone to both
existing infected, and causes more to be spawned and
attack the victims. If the Boomer drops from a high
enough height, it will "pop" and blood will spread to any
Survivors in the immediate area, having the same effect
as a vomit attack would. When successfully shot at, the
Boomer explodes which covers any nearby Survivors with
puke.- The Charger
Kind of like The Tank's younger, more athletic brother,
The Charger is a brute and a bully who enjoys roughing
up survivors who cross his path. His primary attack is a
barreling charge that will plow through any survivors in
his way like a freight train, knocking them aside, stunning,
and hurting them. In addition, The Charger will hang
onto the last survivor he bowls into and carry them
until he either collides with something or travels his full
running distance of about 80 feet, at which point he ends
his charge and begins repeatedly pounding his captured
survivor into the ground, dealing substantial damage
with each pound. The Charger can also inflict considerable
damage with his standard melee swipe, given that his
right arm is the size of a tree trunk.- The Spitter
Dribbling a stream of green spittle behind her
and gurgling profusely, The Spitter hauks the ultimate
loogie. When she uses her projectile spit attack,
she hurls a ball of acid in a straight line that drops after
about 60ft, forming a pool of highly corrosive acid on the
ground that inflicts continuous damage to all survivors
who remain in it. The acid pool disappears after a few
seconds, so it's most potent when used against survivors
who will have difficulty moving out of it (e.g. in tight quarters,
while being mobbed, while captured by another special
infected, etc.) The Spitter also has very low health - dying
after taking only a couple of bullets - encouraging her to
hide out of sight of the survivors and snipe them with her
spit attacks. (Note: The acid does float on water and still
causes damage when doing so)- The Jockey
Laughing like the deranged maniac he is, The Jockey
just loves taking survivors for rides. He can hop short
distances and if he manages to land on a survivor,
he will mount their head and be able to steer them in
whatever direction he wishes. A survivor that is being
'jockeyed' this way may try to resist The Jockey's influence
by holding down movement directions opposite the
way The Jockey is taking them, but can only slow
The Jockey's control, not negate it. As the Jockey
rides his victim, he also periodically smacks their head,
dealing small amounts of damage.
The Common Infected
The virus has spread, the infected moan and deteriorate,
claw and scramble for flesh. The people who receive these
vicious bites have the disease flushed into their bloodstream,
and are infected within a twenty four hour period.
The transformation is painful, paralyzing, and the worst kind of
hell you can experience before your sanity snaps under
the aggression modification.
Each zombie feels no pain, does not tire, and will claw
and chase after flesh until it completely disintegrates,
or is killed otherwise. The virus controls the brain, and
an Infected can only be killed by destroying the monsters
gray matter. As the virus tears down the brain, the hosts
abilities to comprehend, speak, run, jump, remember,
climb, swim, or anything get lost one by one. In a crowd,
it is likely few of them will posses any of these abilities
depending on how long they've been infected. They posses
only the strength of the previous host, but pushed to its
greatest length as it cannot tell when its tearing its muscles
or breaking its bones.
