Violence in Silence
[/font][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]Life was the same as anywhere else in the
bustling city of Alexandria on the west coast of the United States.
The seaside, port city was full of average families living
average lives, the underground of drugs and prostitution
ticked like a clock, families would take hikes in the nearby
mountains and as in any port town the criminals would
meet at the docks as major company ships and freighters
sailed in and out like ant colonies, It was as scenic as
it good could get, so of course no one ever took notice of
the fancy Myranda Lab Corps building in downtown, untill it
was too late.
On June 18th, 2013, a massive earthquake shook the
bedrock and pipelines beneath Alexandria City and tore
the gas lines to shreds, causing a massive explosion that
destroyed up the lab and half of Downtown. The destruction unleashed a military-grade experimental aggression enhancement virus that surged into the ground water, and into the citizens tap water. Normally docile citizens go on violent rampages and attack friends and neighbors. Their skin began to deteriorate and fall off, their brains melted down and all traces of logic, memory, and emotion drained from the infected. They began to bite, claw, destroy anything in their way for some vicious craving for human flesh.
Local law enforcement and vigilante citizens alike were ripped to shreds as their attempts to shut down the aggressors failed miserably. These creatures seemed to feel no pain, no fear, nothing seemed to stop them as they moaned and tore at the innocent city, spreading the infection with brutal bites. It wasn't long before chaos spread through the city, all hell had broken loose as the horror film nightmares crept forth, the seemingly dead would rise again mangled and bloodied by the very causes of their demise, searching for more flesh to devour.
Five weeks after the initial outbreak the city is unrecognizable, the infected reign as survivors struggle to live. The virus had begun a second mutation in some hosts, causing them to gain attributes beyond the average undead, soon gaining the attention of the military and their delicate, humane and protective way of dealing with civil plight. The entire city has been black listed and quarantined. Cable, satellite, any kind of signal in and out of the city was instantly blocked out, reporters acted like the city didn't even exist, a complete media blackout engulfed the city like a dark cloud, pretending like it never existed. Small patrols of soldiers roam the landscape as the large outposts block all exits. Anyone who approaches the city limits from the inside is immediately shot after a ten-second chance to turn the other way, and not a second after.
Things look bleak, dark and damned to Hell in this city
by the sea, but the real question is can you survive this
