Here at Violence in Silence, the rules are pretty
standard-issue and lax, so following them shouldn't
be much of a problem :] Punishment for breaking
any of them is pretty clean-cut.
[Punishments]
- On First offense, a warning will be
pm'd to you to change the content of the
thread that contains the offense. - Second offense will result in a locking of
your thread and a 24 hour ban. The thread will be
reopened upon your return. - Third offense consequences are that one of
the administrators or moderators will jump into
your thread and add in a reply of your character
being over-run or killed off by infected somehow
and a permanent ban. A thread will be open for
you to plead a case should you wish to come
back to Violence in Silence.
[Applications]
* When creating your character, please be sure
you don't alter the form in any ways other than entering y
our character's information.
* All applications MUST have a human face
claim. Two characters may NOT have the same face
claim unless planned ahead of time as twins.
* The city of Alexandria is a big melting pot thanks to
the constant shipments of people in the docks before the
Infection. Foreign people, different family and financial
backgrounds, everything goes. If you're unsure however,
don't hesitate to PM an admin for help.
* Try to think up new names. We don't want
a hundred "Amanda"s and twenty "Sarah"s. Like I
said, foreign names and people are awesome!
[Posting & Profiles]
* This is a split-time frame roleplay. With so much shit going on, your character is welcome to be in multiple places, killing zombies anywhere they please. But if you have more than one thread open for your character, try to keep all those threads active. If you start a new one due to inactivity, simply post in that thread letting the staff know so you aren't accused of breaking the rules.
* For each account you have, you may have
only one character per account. This keeps everything
organized and easy to follow
[Graphic Content]
*Violence. That is almost what this entire site is
about, the slaying of the vicious undead and your own
fight for survival. If this is not your forte, this is probably
not the site for you.
* In this town, humans will be humans and they
will result to their most primal needs. Graphic things
happen. Drugs, alcohol, sex, it happens. This does not
mean that staff or members openly support it. (
We'd get in trouble)
* If graphic scenes are planned, place an [M]
or other indicator of a mature thread in the title.
This way, if someone would rather not see two characters
do the nasty, they can avoid it.
* Be aware: If your character has a mature thread,
in other words, has sex with someone without protection,
I will flip a coin. Heads she's not pregnant, tails she's pregnant.
I'll flip again for gender if its tails and then set baby stats.
What happens from there is up to you. Being stuck pregnant
in a world like this would not be fun. Your character is not
likely to survive unless you're extraordinarily lucky.
[/li][li] There's no "I" in "Team," But there's one in "Zombie"[li] Its you against the undead. Its up to you to keep your wits about you as you survive in this god-forsaken city, and here's how you go about doing so, and getting the most from your experience :]
Going it alone in a town like this is reckless, dangerous, and almost downright stupid. Get a friend, maybe two, travel light, work together. Having someone watching your back isn't necessary, but its greatly recommended. If you go it alone, you will NOT be a one-man zombie slaying army, it just doesn't happen. Those whom are by themselves will be monitored, and if things just seem to be too easy, expect a bit of a mix up.
If you have a team, you are to make a note of it in your signature, see mine at the bottom of this post for an example. It makes it so much easier for us to keep track of everything when we know whose together and who isn't.
[/li][li] Prescription to cure Zombification: One Bullet to the Dome
Yes, we're all gonna want to find some crazy SPAS 12 shotgun, .357 revolver, and hell, why not? But don't power-play about it, guns are only as effective as the amount of ammo you have. To keep track of your weapons and ammo, add a link to an image of your gun (such as in my signature) and keep track of how many bullets you have. Consider not being armed to the teeth as a bit of a challenge, it makes the whole thing more realistic.
On another note for melee weapons, they're not invincible. Swords dull, hammers and bats break, etc. A melee weapon will only last you THREE threads unless one of them includes taking care of your weapons, which will add another three threads onto its lifespan. The same goes for cleaning and taking care of your guns. A jammed gun is just another melee weapon, and you just have to get that much closer to the zombies to use it.
If you're not sure or don't know how to put those things in your signature, PM a staff member, we'll happily help.
[/li][li] "I did not come this far, to die here"
People get sick. People get injured, it takes time to let these things heal. You did not put in the cheat code for God mode before registering, and you can't use it. If your character falls too far, he or she will have a sprained or broken leg\ankle. If he or she ingests mistreated food or water, they will have food poisoning or a parasitic infection. This will drastically affect your ability to run, fight, and survive against the zombies, but will not make it impossible.
Breaks and fractures take a minimum of THREE to FIVE threads to fully heal. If your sick, take medicine. It can be found amongst the sparse military air-drops or boat shipments left at the docks, or you can make your way to an urgent care center or hospital, provided you can scavenge anything from the raided institutions.
If you get bitten by a zombie, you will become an infected and your character will be dead. You can register to be a special infected and weave your way into threads to wreak havoc just for some fun, but don't expect to live long, and if you get killed that's just that. Killing a character who plays a special infected does not constitute as power-playing, it's just the way it works. I will make a a mark on your account when you are infected, and when you are killed, and in order to continue role playing here, you will have to make another character.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
